What Happened?
On Sept. 21, 2025, Lautrec discovered suspicious activity within its network.
The company took steps to secure its systems and began a comprehensive investigation with the help of third-party forensic specialists. The investigation revealed that, on Sept. 20, 2025, certain files within Lautrec’s network were accessed and copied without authorization.
The review determined that the following types of sensitive information were exposed:

- Dates of birth
- Driver’s license numbers and/or state identification numbers
- Financial account information
- Health insurance information
- Medical information
- Passport numbers
- Payment card information
- Social Security numbers
- Taxpayer identification numbers
The Akira ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that 18 GB of data was stolen and posted on the dark web in October 2025.
The breach affected residents in several states, including New Hampshire and Vermont. Lautrec began notifying affected individuals in May 2026.
