Consero is a financial services company based in Austin, Texas. The company specializes in Finance as a Service (FaaS), providing managed alternatives to in-house finance departments for small to mid-market businesses.

What Happened?

In early July 2024, Consero became aware of suspicious activity in its environment. An investigation determined that a cybercriminal had accessed the company's network and potentially acquired certain files and folders within its system between April 27, 2025, and July 4, 2025.

Consero has taken steps to enhance the security of its systems and is offering complimentary credit monitoring services for 12 months to affected individuals.

The data breach was disclosed to the Montana Attorney General's office on Oct. 11, 2025, the Texas Attorney General's office on Oct. 17, 2025, and the California, Maine, Vermont, Washington and Massachusetts Attorney Generals' offices on Oct. 23, 2025. The cyberattack affected at least 9,268 individuals.
