Telus Digital Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Information Including Social Security Numbers

Telus International AI Inc., an AI data solutions company headquartered at 2251 South Decatur Blvd. in Las Vegas, disclosed a data breach that occurred on Oct. 18, 2025, so far impacting 9,343 Washington residents and 625 Texas residents.

The company first identified the incident on Nov. 12, 2025. The breach involved unauthorized access to a limited number of Telus Digital's internal systems. An unauthorized third party gained access to certain company systems and obtained documents that contained personal information.

On March 18, 2026, more than four months after the incident was first detected, the company learned that the documents obtained by the unauthorized third party included personal information of certain participants. This discovery was made as part of the company's ongoing investigation into the original security incident.

The affected individuals included people who had participated in research studies or who had signed up to provide services to Telus Digital. The compromised data consisted of information these participants had provided about themselves when they enrolled in programs or registered with the company.

The types of personally identifiable information exposed included names, addresses, full dates of birth, Social Security numbers and government-issued identification numbers such as passports or state ID cards. In addition, a small number of individuals may have had limited protected health information and financial account numbers.

The breach was also disclosed to the Vermont Attorney General.

Telus Digital's response to the breach

The company is offering complimentary cyber monitoring services to all affected individuals. These services are designed to help detect personal information on the dark web and send alerts if personally identifiable information is found online. The company encouraged individuals to take advantage of this service by following the instructions included in the letter or email they received.
