Bradford-Scott Data LLC agreed to pay $2,393,888.25 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to protect personal information during a data breach that occurred in July 2023.

How much can class members get?
Class members can claim several types of benefits from the settlement fund:
- Reimbursement for documented monetary losses: Class members who experienced actual, documented out-of-pocket losses between July 2, 2023, and Oct. 7, 2026, due to the data incident can claim up to $5,000. Eligible expenses include:
- Losses due to identity theft or fraud
- Fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or freezing/unfreezing credit
- Costs to replace identification documents
- Postage for contacting banks or other institutions
- Pro rata cash payment: Class members who did not experience out-of-pocket losses or do not wish to provide documentation can claim a one-time pro rata cash payment estimated at $100, but the final amount may be higher or lower depending on the number of valid claims.
- Credit monitoring: All class members are eligible to enroll in three years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring, which includes $1 million in financial fraud insurance and monitoring for various types of suspicious activity.

Class members can submit the online claim form or download and print a PDF claim form, fill it out and mail or email it to the settlement administrator.

What proof or documentation is necessary?
- For documented losses, class members must submit third-party proof, such as bank statements, receipts or other documentation showing the data incident caused the expense. Self-prepared notes or explanations alone are not sufficient.
- For the pro rata cash payment or credit monitoring, class members only need to select the appropriate option on the claim form.
- For online claims, class members must enter the login ID and PIN from the settlement notice they received.
