What Happened?

Barnhart Group suffered a ransomware attack by a group known as Akira. The breach was posted to the dark web on Nov. 14, 2025, where the attackers claimed to have accessed a wide range of sensitive corporate and personal data.

Barnhart Group reported the breach to the Maine Attorney General, the Texas Attorney General, and the Vermont Attorney General.

The compromised information includes financial data, audit and payment details, invoices, employee and customer information, passports, driver's licenses, Social Security numbers, medical information.

The Akira group further claims to have accessed emails, phone numbers, confidential documents, NDAs and other detailed personal records, although these have claims have not been confirmed on public disclosures.

According to the disclosure, 1,435 individuals were affected, including 434 Texas residents and two Maine residents. The company notified impacted individuals by U.S. Mail.
