700Credit $17.5 Million Data Breach Class Action Settlement

Consumers who received a notice that the 700Credit data breach may have affected their personal information could qualify to submit a claim for up to $2,500 from a class action settlement. The cybersecurity incident impacted approximately 5.8 million individuals.

700Credit LLC, a company that provides credit reports and other information to auto, RV, powersports and marine dealerships, agreed to pay $17.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The plaintiffs claimed a data breach in October 2025 allowed cybercriminals to access sensitive consumer information through compromised credentials on the 700Dealer.com web application. The exposed data may have included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable information.

Who can file a claim a data breach settlement payout?

Class members are individuals residing in the United States who received a notice of the data breach indicating it may have compromised their private information. The settlement administrator sent the notices in July 2026.

How much are settlement payments?

Class members have the following benefit options:

• Cash payment A – Documented losses: Class members can claim up to $2,500 for out-of-pocket losses related to the data breach. Eligible expenses include bank fees, postage for contacting financial institutions, gasoline for local travel and fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or other identity theft insurance products the class member purchased before the claim form deadline.
• Cash payment B – Flat cash payment: Class members who do not submit a documented losses claim can submit a claim to receive a flat cash payment estimated at $50.
• Credit monitoring: All class members can elect to enroll in two years of free credit monitoring. They do not need to submit a claim form to receive this benefit. The settlement administrator sent activation codes to all class members; they can use them after the settlement receives final approval.

How to claim a class action rebate

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information

• All claims require the unique ID from the settlement notice the class member received. Online claims also require the PIN from the same notice.
• Documented losses claims require supporting documentation, such as receipts, account statements showing unreimbursed fees or fraudulent charges, or correspondence and other proof showing out-pocket expenses or monetary losses due to fraud or identity theft.

The $17,500,00 settlement fund will include:

• Attorneys' fees: Up to $5,833,333 plus reasonable costs

• Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds

When is the 700Credit data breach settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will issue payments to approved claimants approximately 75 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

This class action lawsuit claimed 700Credit discovered a data breach on or about Oct. 25, 2025, in which unauthorized parties accessed the company’s web application and potentially obtained private information of consumers. The plaintiffs alleged 700Credit failed to adequately protect this data.

700Credit denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation and a possible trial.
