
Wood Personnel Services, a Nashville-based staffing and recruiting firm, recently disclosed a data breach that exposed personally identifiable information like Social Security Numbers. On Sept. 12, 2025, the company detected unusual activity on its computer network. an investigation with third-party cybersecurity specialists revealed that certain files may have been accessed without authorization for a short period that same day.
A comprehensive review determined that the files in question potentially included names and one or more of the following types of personally identifiable information: Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account details.
According to the notice filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General, the breach affected eight Massachusetts residents. The incident was also reported to the Vermont Attorney General.
The exposure of sensitive data such as Social Security numbers and financial account information increases the risk of identity theft and fraud for those affected.
For those whose information may have been exposed, the company is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through IDX. Impacted individuals are encouraged to enroll in these services by March 16, 2026, using the instructions provided in the notification letter. Credit monitoring can help detect signs of identity theft early and provide support in resolving any related issues.
Additionally, affected individuals should remain vigilant by reviewing their credit reports and account statements for suspicious activity. They may also consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with the major credit bureaus to further protect their financial information.
