Wedge Holdings, Inc., a Japanese holding company with diverse interests in digital finance and content production, recently disclosed a data breach affecting residents in Massachusetts. According to a filing with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, the breach impacted at least 68 individuals in the state.
The breach involved the exposure of personally identifiable information, including social security numbers and driver’s license numbers. While the breach notification did not detail the precise method by which the data was compromised or identify the party responsible, the nature of the information exposed underscores the seriousness of the incident, as such data can be used for identity theft and other forms of fraud.
The company became aware of the breach prior to late-November 2025, and promptly notified affected individuals as required by law. The notification letter provided to consumers includes detailed instructions on how to protect themselves from potential misuse of their information.
In response to the breach, Wedge Holdings has taken several steps to support affected individuals. The company is offering complimentary credit monitoring services through Kroll. Impacted individuals are encouraged to enroll in these services within 90 days of receiving their notification letter.
Additionally, the notification letter provides guidance on obtaining free annual credit reports from the three major credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, as well as information on placing fraud alerts or credit freezes on credit files. These measures can help reduce the risk of identity theft or fraudulent activity.
Affected individuals can contact a dedicated assistance line at 800-405-6108, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, or write to Wedge Holdings, Inc. at 1415 Louisiana Street, Suite 150, Houston, TX 77002, for further support.
