On Jan. 17, 2025, United Domestic Workers of America AFSCME Local 3930 (UDW) detected unauthorized attempts to access its servers. The breach potentially exposed some internal human resources data.
Compromised data includes names, addresses and Social Security numbers. The total number of impacted individuals has not been released, but is believed to be in the thousands.
UDW disclosed the data breach to the Montana Attorney General's office on Aug. 8, 2025, and began notifying affected individuals the same day. The incident was also disclosed to the California Attorney General's office on Aug. 12, 2025.
UDW launched an investigation and engaged external cybersecurity experts to implement additional safeguards and enhanced security measures. The company is also offering 12 months of free single bureau credit monitoring services to individuals involved in the data breach.
