
Ray Riding Motors Inc., doing business as Wills Point Chevrolet, disclosed a data breach that affected at least 483 residents of Texas.
On March 13, 2026, a ransomware group known as Akira posted a claim on the dark web, stating it had successfully obtained data belonging to Wills Point Chevrolet.
According to dark web intelligence, the group claimed to have accessed a large volume of sensitive material from the company which reportedly included scanned personal employee documents such as passports, driver's licenses and W-9 tax forms, bank statements, financial records and various business agreements.
The types of consumer information confirmed to have been exposed in the breach included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and medical information.
Wills Point Chevrolet notified affected individuals of the data breach by U.S. Mail. Beyond the notification letters sent to affected individuals, no additional details about the company's response efforts have been made publicly available at this time.
Affected individuals are encouraged to take proactive steps on their own to protect their personal information and financial accounts while awaiting any further communication from the company.
