Mid America Physician Services (MAPS), a women’s health care provider based in the Kansas City area, experienced a major data breach. The suspicious activity was discovered on Nov. 14, 2024 and on May 8, 2025 the investigation revealed that both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) was compromised.
Exposed information includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical treatment information, billing information and health insurance details. Mid America Physician Services began notifying affected individuals on July 15, 2025 and published a Notice of Data Security Incident on its own website.
The cybersecurity incident was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General's office on July 18, 2025. The total number of patients affected in the data breach has not been release, but includes at least 636 Texas residents.
In addition to required state and federal disclosures, MAPS has set up a dedicated call center for questions at 833-367-8552, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST.
