Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates, PLLC, Carnegie Hill Imaging for Women, and Carnegie Women’s Health experienced a data breach impacting current and former patients. Suspicious activity was first detected on September 16, 2024, when they noticed unauthorized access to certain systems within their computer network.

An investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had access to the Practices’ network between July 30, 2024, and September 16, 2024 and certain files were accessed or downloaded without authorization. The files that were accessed may have contained a combination of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) which includes full name, address, date of birth, driver’s license, Social Security number, credit card information, bank account information, clinical diagnosis/conditions, lab results, and medications.

The Practices' notified the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on November 15, 2024 that at least 501 current and former patients were impacted. An official disclosure was also posted on the Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates, Carnegie Women's Health, and Carnegie Imaging websites.

Upon discovering the breach, the Practices' began working to identity impacted individuals and took steps to secure their systems. Once the process is completed, current and former patients with compromised PII and PHI will be notified by mail.
