LanguageLine Solutions, the world's largest provider of language access services, disclosed a data breach that occurred in late 2025 involving a third-party platform called Interpreter Intelligence.

LanguageLine Solutions learned of the incident on Feb. 23, 2026, and began notifying affected individuals on March 24, 2026, according to the company's notification letter. The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on March 25, 2026.

The total number of individuals affected across the United States has not been disclosed, but at least three Massachusetts residents have been affected.

What happened in the LanguageLine Solutions data breach

To support its interpretation services, LanguageLine Solutions uses the Interpreter Intelligence platform, which is owned and administered by a third party. The notification letter did not identify the third party that operates the platform.

According to the notification letter, information stored on the Interpreter Intelligence platform may have been subject to unauthorized access that occurred on or around Dec. 29, 2025. The third party that operates the platform did not inform LanguageLine Solutions until approximately two months later.

The types of information exposed included names and financial account information.

LanguageLine Solutions' response to the breach

LanguageLine Solutions is offering affected individuals complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Cyberscout as a precautionary measure. To enroll, affected individuals can visit the Cyberscout enrollment page and enter the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

LanguageLine Solutions has set up a dedicated assistance line that is available between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Affected individuals can also write to the company at 1 Lower Ragsdale Drive, Building 2, Monterey, CA 93940, or reach LanguageLine Solutions through its contact page.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

Because financial account information was exposed in this breach, affected individuals should take prompt steps to protect themselves from potential fraud or identity theft.

  • Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with TransUnion (1-800-680-7289), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and Equifax (1-888-298-0045) to help prevent unauthorized accounts from being opened.
  • Contact financial institutions directly to alert them that account information may have been compromised and ask about additional security measures such as new account numbers or enhanced monitoring.
  • Monitor bank and financial account statements closely by reviewing them regularly for unfamiliar charges or suspicious transactions and reporting any discrepancies to the financial institution right away.
  • Request free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for accounts or inquiries that are not recognized.
  • Report suspected identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission at identitytheft.gov or by calling 1-877-438-4338, and consider filing a police report if fraudulent activity is discovered.
  • Be cautious of phishing attempts that reference LanguageLine Solutions or this breach by name, as scammers may try to use the incident to trick people into sharing additional personal information.
