Fluke Corp., a leading American manufacturer of electronic test and measurement equipment, has disclosed a data breach affecting 18,517 individuals in the United States, including 505 Texas residents, 140 Massachusetts residents, 138 Indiana residents, 43 Vermont residents and 13 Maine residents identified as affected.
An unauthorized actor found and exploited a vulnerability in a third-party business application used by Fluke, allowing the attacker to gain access to a limited segment of the company's network. The company noted that this same vulnerability also affected various other companies across different industries that use the same software.
The company's investigation determined that the actor had access to the network from Aug. 10, 2025, until Oct. 7, 2025.
The types of personal information exposed varied by individual but included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and an indicator of whether individuals self-identified as having a disability.
Fluke began notifying affected consumers by written letter on May 15, 2026. The breach was additionally disclosed to the California Attorney General.
Fluke is offering affected individuals 24 months of free identity theft prevention and credit monitoring services through Epiq, using the Equifax Complete Premier product. Key features of this service include three-bureau credit monitoring with email alerts, daily access to Equifax credit reports, web scanning for compromised personal information, automatic fraud alerts and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance coverage.
