First National Bank of Clarksdale experienced a major data breach. An unauthorized actor accessed the bank's internal network between June 4, 2025 and June 5, 2025 and obtained files containing sensitive customer data.
A review was completed on Sept. 8, 2025 and it was determined that the cybersecurity incident compromised personally identifiable information (PII). Exposed information included names, Social Security numbers and bank account numbers. This type of breach puts bank customers at risk for identity theft and fraud.
First National Bank of Clarksdale began notifying impacted individuals by mail on Sept. 24, 2025. The bank also disclosed the data breach to the Maine Attorney General and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office on the same day.
After detecting the incident, First National Bank of Clarksdale secured its network and notified law enforcement. In addition to required state and federal disclosures, the bank is offering impacted customers 12 months of free Epiq Privacy Solutions ID identity monitoring services.

A breach notice means your personal details could be circulating far beyond the organization involved. One practical step is continuous monitoring: services such as Identity Defender (included with an ExpressVPN subscription) can automatically check dark-web markets, flag new credit-file activity, and request removal of your information from data-broker sites.
This kind of “early-warning system” can’t undo a breach, but it can help you spot misuse quickly and limit further exposure. ExpressVPN is offering 61% off, risk-free for 30 days, with ID Theft Insurance included and no extra cost for those who sign up for one or two years.
