Century Support Services, a debt settlement company, experienced a major data breach affecting 160,759 individuals. On or about November 7, 2024, a cybercriminal gained access to the Century computer systems and potentially accessed or acquired files containing personal information.
On May 30, 2025, an investigation into the cybersecurity incident revealed both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) were compromised. Exposed information may include full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, driver’s license and/or state identification number, medical information, health insurance information, passport number, financial account information, and digital signature.
The data breach was disclosed to the Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Texas, South Carolina, and Vermont Attorney Generals' offices beginning on July 14, 2025.. Affected individuals include 19,173 in Texas, 3,810 in Massachusetts, 510 in South Carolina, 56 in Maine, and 39 residents of New Hampshire.
Century Support Services began notifying affected individuals on June 27, 2025. The company also posted a Notice of Data Security Incident on its website.
In addition to required state and federal disclosures, Century Support Services is offering free credit monitoring services to individuals concerned about the impact to their Social Security number.
