Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center (“ANHC”) has experienced a data breach. The medical center very recently became aware of the cybersecurity incident and has launched an investigation. It has been determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed certain internal systems and obtained patient and employee records.
According to reports, an anonymous cybercriminal group has claimed to have stolen over 10,000 patient records. The total number of impacted individuals has not been released but is believed to include as many as 60,000 current and former patients.
This type of cyberattack often compromises both both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI). Exposed information may include names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, medical records and financial account information.
Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center published security incident FAQs on its website and is posting updates as the investigation continues.
In response to the breach, ANHC has taken immediate steps to secure its systems and notified law enforcement. The organization is working with cybersecurity experts to identify impacted individuals and will be required to issue certain state and federal disclosures.

A breach notice means your personal details could be circulating far beyond the organization involved. One practical step is continuous monitoring: services such as Identity Defender (included with an ExpressVPN subscription) can automatically check dark-web markets, flag new credit-file activity, and request removal of your information from data-broker sites.
This kind of “early-warning system” can’t undo a breach, but it can help you spot misuse quickly and limit further exposure. ExpressVPN is offering 61% off, risk-free for 30 days, with ID Theft Insurance included and no extra cost for those who sign up for one or two years.
