Why is there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleged Edward Jones violated Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) by failing to include wage or salary ranges in job postings for employment in Washington.

Edward Jones denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risks of further litigation.
