Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit claimed unauthorized access to PSEA’s systems in July 2024 led to the exposure of sensitive personal information. The plaintiffs alleged that PSEA failed to implement reasonable data security measures, resulting in the data incident.
PSEA denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risk of further litigation.
