
Consumers who visited a MarinHealth Medical Center website between Aug. 1, 2019, and May 27, 2025, you may be eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment ranging from $78 to $261 from a class action settlement.
MarinHealth Medical Center agreed to pay $3,000,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it improperly shared website users’ personal or health information with third parties, including Facebook and Google, through Meta Pixel tracking technology.
Who can is eligible for a class action payout?
Class members must meet the following critieria:
- They are a MarinHealth Medical Center patient, a California resident or any member of the public who visited a MarinHealth Medical Center website between Aug. 1, 2019, and May 27, 2025.
- The settlement administrator has identified them as a class member based on their website visit during the class period.
How much is the privacy settlement payment?
Pro rata cash payment: Approved claimants will receive a pro rata cash payment estimated to be between $78 and $161. Final payment amount will be determined by the number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a claim form by the deadline of September 24, 2025.
There are multiple claim filing options:
- Class members who received a settlement notice with a claim ID and PIN can file a claim online.
- Class members who do not have a Claim ID, can still file a claim online by selecting "I DO NOT have a claim number but would like to file a claim online."
- Class members who received a settlement notice with a Claim ID and PIN can download and print a personalized claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.
- Class members who do not have a claim ID and PIN can download a claim form to print and mail to the settlement administrator.

Is proof required to submit a claim?
No, supporting documentation is not required to submit a claim. However, the settlement administrator may ask for additional information during the claim review process.

$3 million pixel tracking privacy settlement fund
The $3,000,000 settlement fund will include:
- Settlement administration and notice costs: To be determined
- Attorneys’ fees: Up to $1,000,000
- Attorneys’ costs: Not to exceed $50,000
- Service awards to class representatives: $2,000 each of the three representatives, a total of $6,000
- Payments to eligible class members: Remainder of the net settlement fund, distributed pro rata

When is the MarinHealth Medical Center Meta pixel settlement payout date?
Payments to approved claimants will be issued 65 days after the court grants final approval or after claim processing is complete, whichever is later.
Why did this class action lawsuit and settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged MarinHealth Medical Center disclosed website users’ personal or health information to third parties, including Facebook and Google, through the use of Meta Pixel tracking technology without proper authorization or consent. Plaintiffs claimed this resulted in an invasion of privacy and other injuries.
MarinHealth denied all allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation. In addition to the monetary settlement, MarinHealth agreed to remove Meta Pixel technology from its websites and will not reinstall it without providing notice to and obtaining consent from website users.
