Class members are individuals who owned property or resided within a 3-mile radius of the CSX train derailment site in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on Nov. 22, 2023.
Both residents and property owners are eligible even if the owner did not reside at the property on Nov. 22, 2023. Each property or household is eligible for a single claim, but unrelated individuals at the same address may file independently.

How much is the class action settlement payout?
The standard payment for qualifying class members is up to $4,000 per household or property owner subject to reduction if the claimant previously received compensation from CSX after the derailment. If there are residual funds after the settlement administrator pays all valid claims, it may increase each claim on a pro rata basis up to a maximum of $6,000 per household.
