
Individuals who had their private information compromised as a result of the data security incident involving Landmark Admin and multiple insurance companies between May 13, 2024 and June 17, 2024, may qualify to submit a claim for up to $2,500 from a class action settlement.
Landmark Admin LLC, along with American Benefit Life Insurance Co., American Monumental Life Insurance Co., Capitol Life Insurance Co., Continental Mutual Insurance Co., Liberty Bankers Life Insurance Co. and Accendo Insurance Co., has agreed to pay $6 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges these companies failed to prevent a data security incident that potentially compromised the private information of an estimated 1.6 million individuals.
Who is eligible for a data breach payout?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They reside in the United States, including all U.S. territories and military installations worldwide.
- Their private information was potentially implicated, accessed, compromised or impacted as a result of the Landmark Admin data security incident that occurred between May 13, 2024 and June 17, 2024.
- They received a notification letter by mail regarding the data security incident.
How much is the class action settlement payment?
Class members have two claim options:
- Documented economic losses: Claimants can submit to receive up to $2,500 for actual, documented, and unreimbursed monetary losses that are more likely traceable to the data security incident. Losses must have occurred after May 13, 2024 and can include fraud, identity theft, professional fees (such as attorneys or accountants), credit monitoring costs and other related expenses.
- Pro rata cash payment: Class members that do not submit a documented economic losses claim may file to receive a $30 pro rata cash payment. Final payment amount will be determined by the number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by the deadline of Dec. 26, 2025. There are two ways to file a claim:

- Print and complete the PDF claim form to mail to the settlement administrator.

Class members can select from the following payment options:
- Venmo
- Zelle
- PayPal
- Physical check mailed to the address provided
$6 Million data breach class action settlement fund
The $6,000,000 settlement fund will include:
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys’ fees and expenses: Up to $2 million
- Service awards to class representatives: Not to exceed $1,500 each for 13 plaintiffs
- Payments to class members with valid claims: Remaining settlement funds

When is the Landmark Admin data breach settlement payout date?
Payments will be issued to approved claimants approximately 90 days after final approval is granted or claim processing is complete, whichever is later.

The class action lawsuit alleged that Landmark Admin and related insurance companies failed to prevent a data security incident that compromised private information. Plaintiffs brought claims including negligence, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, breach of confidence, and invasion of privacy.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty and cost associated with continued litigation and the possibility of a trial.
