Labcorp Website Tracking Class Action Settlement

California or Pennsylvania residents who used Labcorp’s website to conduct search queries between May 1, 2021 and April 1, 2026, may be eligible for relief under a class action settlement.

Laboratory Corp. of America agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging it violated state wiretapping laws by allowing third-party tracking technologies to intercept users’ personal information and search activity on its website in violation of California and Pennsylvania wiretapping laws.

Who are the class members?

The settlement divides class members into two groups:

• California settlement class: All persons in California who conducted search queries on Labcorp’s website (www.labcorp.com or any of its subpages) from May 1, 2021, to April 1, 2026
• Pennsylvania settlement class: All persons in Pennsylvania who conducted search queries on Labcorp’s website (www.labcorp.com or any of its subpages) from May 1, 2021, to April 1, 2026

A “search query” includes entering any search term into a search bar or menu on Labcorp’s website or making any selection from a drop-down menu on the site.

What benefits can class members receive?

Class members will not receive any monetary compensation from this settlement. The relief is injunctive only, meaning it requires Labcorp to change certain business practices related to website tracking technologies.

No action needed to receive benefits

Class members do not need to file a claim or take any action to benefit from the settlement. Labcorp will automatically implement changes to its website practices if the court grants final approval to the settlement.

There is no online or mail-in claim form and no need to submit any documentation to receive the settlement benefit.

• Attorneys’ fees and expenses: Up to $4,875,000
• Service awards to class representatives: Up to $2,500 each for three representatives (up to $7,500 total)
