Employment seekers who applied for a job with Wiz Inc. in Washington state between Jan. 1, 2023, and Sept. 24, 2026, may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Wiz agreed to pay $5,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging its job postings for positions in Washington did not include required information about wage scales, salary ranges or general descriptions of benefits as mandated by state law.
Who are the class members?
Class members include anyone who meets all of the following criteria:
- They applied for a job opening with Wiz in the state of Washington.
- They submitted the application between Jan. 1, 2023, and Sept. 24, 2026.
- The job posting did not disclose a wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation to be offered to a hired applicant.
The settlement administrator used Wiz's records to identify class members. Individuals who received a notice about this settlement are eligible to participate.
How much can class members get?
Pro rata payment: Each class member is eligible to receive an equal share of the $5,000,000 settlement fund. The settlement administrator will report payments as nonwage damages on a 1099 tax form.
The exact amount each class member receives will depend on the total number of eligible participants and deductions for administration costs, attorneys' fees and costs, and the service award to the plaintiff.
No action needed to receive compensation
Class members do not need to file a claim form to receive their payment. The settlement administrator already has information for eligible class members. However, they must ensure the administrator has their current mailing address or preferred electronic payment information.
Class members can update their details or select a digital payment option by submitting the online address update/payment selection form or by printing and completing the PDF form and mailing it to the settlement administrator.
