Katz Nannis & Solomon PC has agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit for alleged failures to protect sensitive personal information after a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems. The incident, which occurred on or about Nov. 21, 2023, allegedly resulted in unauthorized access to files containing names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical information and financial account details.
Who is eligible for a data breach payout?
Class members are individuals residing in the United States who were sent a letter from Katz Nannis & Solomon PC informing them their private information was compromised in the Nov. 21, 2023, data incident.
How much is the class action settlement payment?
The settlement provides several types of benefits, and class members may be eligible for more than one. The benefits include:
- Identity theft protection services: Class members can elect to receive three years of identity theft protection services from all three major credit bureaus, including up to $1 million in identity theft insurance.
- Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses: Class members who are current or former clients, or their dependents may submit for up to $275 in documented out-of-pocket expenses traceable to the data incident. Eligible expenses may include unreimbursed bank or credit card fees, costs for freezing/unfreezing credit and credit monitoring fees.
- Lost time reimbursement: Class members may claim up to five hours at $20 per hour for time dealing with the data breach, a maximum of $100.Lost time is included in the $275 cap for out-of-pocket expenses.
- Reimbursement for actual monetary loss: Class members who suffered an actual, documented monetary loss as a result of the data incident, beyond the $275 cap, may claim up to $2,500. The losses must be unreimbursed, traceable to the data breach and occurred between Nov. 21, 2023, and Sept. 5, 2025.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit claim form by the deadline of Sept. 5, 2025. Individuals can file a claim online or download a PDF claim form to print and mail to the settlement administrator.

KNS agreed, as a part of the settlement, to implement data security enhancements at an estimated cost is $570,000.

When is the Katz Nannis & Solomon PC settlement payout date?
