Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged HH-Entertainment Inc. violated federal law by printing more than the last five digits of customers’ credit or debit card numbers on receipts at its retail stores. The plaintiff claimed this practice is prohibited under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, which is designed to protect consumers from identity theft.
HH-Entertainment denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of further litigation.
