
Individuals who received notification that the June 2024 data breach involving Crimson Wine Group compromised their personal information may qualify to submit a claim for up to $5,000 plus credit monitoring from a class action settlement.
Crimson Wine Group Ltd. agreed to pay $637,500 to settle a class action lawsuit claiming a targeted cyberattack exposed sensitive personal data, including names, Social Security numbers and financial account information, belonging to approximately 26,238 current and former employees and other individuals.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are all individuals residing in the United States whose private information an unauthorized party accessed and/or acquired as a result of the data breach Crimson Wine Group reported in June 2024.
How much are settlement payments?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Cash payment A – documented losses: Class members can claim up to $5,000 in documented losses traceable to the data breach. Eligible expenses include bank or credit card fees, overdraft declined payment and returned check fees, costs to replace IDs, fees for credit reports or credit monitoring, and monetary losses due to identity theft or fraud.
- Cash payment B – pro rata undocumented cash payment: Class members who do not submit a documented losses claim can submit a claim to receive a one-time pro rata cash payment estimated at $100. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of claims filed.
- Credit monitoring services: All class members can elect to receive two years of credit monitoring, which includes real-time one-bureau credit file monitoring, dark web scanning, public record monitoring, identity theft insurance with no deductible and access to fraud resolution agents.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information
- Online claims require the login ID and PIN from the settlement notice the class member received.
- Documented losses claims require supporting documentation, which may include receipts, invoices, bank or credit card statements showing unreimbursed fees and fraudulent charges and other proof of fraud or identity theft.

When is the Crimson Wine Group settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue settlement payments and credit monitoring information to approved claimants no later than 75 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.
Why did this class action settlement happen?
This class action lawsuit alleged a targeted cyberattack on Crimson Wine Group Ltd.’s computer systems in June 2024 resulted in unauthorized access to files containing private information. The plaintiff alleged the company failed to adequately protect this data.
Crimson Wine Group denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and risk of continued litigation.
