Brandt Equities Data Breach Impacts 23,000+ Individuals

Brandt Equities LP, a farming company based in Fargo, North Dakota, disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to its computer network during two periods in November 2025.

Brandt Equities began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on March 17, 2026, and disclosed the incident to the attorneys general offices of Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont.

The incident impacted a total of 23,922 individuals, including 1,224 Iowa residents.

How did the Brandt Equities data breach happen?

An unauthorized party gained access to Brandt Equities' computer network on two separate occasions in November 2025. The first period of unauthorized access occurred between Nov. 8, 2025, and Nov. 12, 2025. The second period took place between Nov. 20, 2025, and Nov. 22, 2025.

During both periods of unauthorized access, copies of certain files were taken from the company's network, according to the notification. The company reviewed the list of files that were affected. On Feb. 6, 2026, the review determined that one or more of those files contained personal information belonging to affected individuals.

The types of personal information exposed in the breach included names, Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers.

Brandt Equities' response

Brandt Equities is offering affected individuals one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. The consumer notification identifies the service as Epiq - Privacy Solutions ID, which provides three-bureau credit monitoring.
