How much is the class action settlement payout?
Class members can claim one or more of the following benefits:
- Out-of-pocket expenses: Class members can claim reimbursement for documented expenses up to $400. Eligible expenses include fees for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing or unfreezing credit or replacing identification documents and postage for contacting banks. Expenses must have occurred between June 29, 2024, and March 12, 2026.
- Losses from identity theft or fraud: Class members who experienced financial losses due to identity theft or fraud likely caused by the data breach can claim up to $4,000. Claimants must show the incident most likely caused the loss, that they attempted to recover the loss through other means and that the loss is not already covered under out-of-pocket expenses. Losses must have occurred between June 29, 2024, and March 12, 2026.
- Reimbursement for lost time: Class members who spent time addressing issues the data breach caused can claim up to four hours of lost time at $20 per hour for a maximum of $80. Claimants must briefly describe tasks performed, which may include changing passwords, monitoring accounts or researching the incident.
- Credit monitoring: All class members can enroll in two years of credit monitoring through one credit bureau at no cost. The service includes $1 million in identity theft insurance, real-time credit file monitoring, dark web scanning and comprehensive public records monitoring with access to fraud resolution agents.
How to claim a Boart Longyear class action settlement payment
To claim settlement benefits, class members can file a claim online or download, print and mail a PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. Class members may also email an electronic image of the completed claim form to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is March 12, 2026.

- For credit monitoring enrollment, class members do not need to submit documentation but must complete the claim form and indicate their election to enroll.
