
People who received a notice that their private information may have been compromised in the January 2024 Avfuel data breach, may qualify to submit a claim for up to $5,000 from a class action settlement.
Avfuel Corp. has agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit stemming from a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems in January 2024. The lawsuit alleges that files containing personal information, including names and Social Security numbers, were accessed during the breach.
Who can file a data breach claim?
Class members are individuals residing in the United States who received a notice from Avfuel Corp. stating that their private information may have been impacted by the January 2024 data incident.
How much is the class action settlement payment
Class members can claim one or more of these benefits
- Out-of-pocket expenses: Class members can submit to receive up to $2,500 for actual, documented expenses incurred as a result of the data incident. This includes fees for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing or unfreezing credit, replacing IDs or postage.
- Losses for identity theft or fraud: Claimants who lost money due to identity theft or fraud traceable to the data breach, can claim up to $5,000 in documented losses. Monetary losses must have be traceable to the incident and not already covered by other reimbursements.
- Cash payment for lost time: Class members can submit to be compensated for time at $25 per hour spent dealing with the data incident. This includes time spent changing passwords, investigating suspicious activity, or researching the incident. Up to six hours may be claimed, for a maximum of $150.00.
- Alternative cash payment: Class members that do not submit a claim for out-of-pocket expenses, identity theft or fraud losses or lost time can claim a one-time $50 cash payment.
- Credit monitoring services: All class members can elect to receive two years of credit monitoring services.
How to claim a data breach class action rebate
A claim form is required to receive a settlement payment or credit monitoring services. Class members can file a claim online or print a PDF claim form to mail or to the settlement administrator.
All claims must be submitted online, postmarked, or emailed by Nov. 4, 2025.

- Notice ID and PIN from settlement notice required to submit an online claim.
- Out-of-pocket expenses claims require supporting documentation such as receipts, invoices or bank and credit card statements showing fees and unreimbursed charges.
- Claims for losses due to identity theft or fraud require proof such as police report, bank or credit card statements showing fraudulent charges and invoices for accountant or attorney services retained due to identity theft.

Data breach settlement fund
The settlement fund will include:

- Payments to approved claimants: Total determined by number of submitted claims

When is the Avfuel data breach settlement payout date?
