What happened?

On March 17, 2025, WaterStreet Company discovered suspicious activity in its systems. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual accessed certain WaterStreet data on that date. The affected systems contained information related to Velocity Risk Underwriters’ clients.

WaterStreet immediately shut down the affected systems and began a comprehensive investigation with cybersecurity experts. By June 26, 2025, WaterStreet provided Velocity Risk Underwriters with data files identifying impacted individuals and the types of information involved.

  • Social Security number
  • Tax Identification Number

The number of affected individuals in the United States was reported as 41,270, with 19 in Maine and 37 in New Hampshire.

The company stated in a state AG disclosure that consumer notices are to be sent electronically, starting Aug. 6, 2025.
