What Happened?

On Dec. 16, 2025, The Center for Advanced Eye Care discovered that its legacy system was potentially compromised by an unauthorized actor.

On Dec. 14, 2025, a threat actor known as Frenshyny claimed on the open web to be selling data allegedly stolen from The Center for Advanced Eye Care. The posting described the data as including ID, number, name, sex, date of birth, location and more.

The company secured the environment and hired a specialized cybersecurity firm to investigate. The forensic investigation revealed that certain protected health information within legacy systems was accessed without authorization.

At this time, current disclosures do not specify which information types have been exposed. The incident was publicly disclosed to the Vermont Attorney General’s office on Feb. 23, 2026.
