What Happened?
On Sept. 28, 2025, Suntree Internal Medicine discovered unusual activity within its digital environment. The company secured its network and brought in cybersecurity experts to investigate.
The investigation found that certain files may have been accessed or acquired without authorization. Suntree Internal Medicine reviewed the affected files to determine what information was involved and which individuals may have been impacted.
The breach was reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on June 18, 2026. According to the official disclosure, a total of 9,810 people in the United States were affected.
The incident was linked to a ransomware attack by the group known as INC RANSOM, who claimed responsibility and posted about the breach on the dark web network Tor on Oct. 1, 2025.

Notably, Social Security numbers, credit card information and bank account information were not involved in this incident.
