What Happened?

STRATeBEN experienced a phishing-related security incident that resulted in unauthorized access to certain customers’ current and former group health plan members’ information.

The company first learned of the incident on Dec. 3, 2025, after detecting unauthorized access to a STRATeBEN employee’s Microsoft 365 account. The account was accessed at various times between Aug. 14, 2025, and Nov. 9, 2025.

After discovering the breach, STRATeBEN secured the account, launched an investigation, and engaged a third-party cybersecurity firm. On March 18, 2026, the company confirmed that files in the compromised account contained sensitive information.

Information Exposed:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth

STRATeBEN began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on March 26, 2026.
