What Happened?
On Oct. 30, 2022, a malicious cyber actor known as PEAR gained unauthorized access to certain systems within Rocky Mountain's database.
This incident was later confirmed on Feb. 2, 2023, to have compromised patient information. The breach was posted on the dark web on Jan. 30, 2026, with the attackers claiming to have obtained 1.7 TB of sensitive data, including business operations data, HR records, patient records and financial information.
Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians disclosed the breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on April 3, 2026. According to official reports, 50,640 individuals in the United States were affected.
The exposed data may include a wide range of personal and medical details.
