What Happened?
In July 2025, National University of Natural Medicine discovered a cybersecurity incident that potentially put sensitive personal information at risk. On or about July 29, 2025, the university learned that an unauthorized individual gained access to an employee email account.
The investigation revealed that this email account may have been accessed or acquired by unauthorized individuals between July 22 and July 29, 2025. After a thorough review, NUNM determined on Nov. 7, 2025, that the compromised email account contained personal information belonging to certain individuals. Written notifications were sent to affected consumers on Nov. 26, 2025.

As of this writing, the breach has affected at least 15 people in Maine and 29 in Massachusetts. However, the investigation is ongoing and the number of impacted individuals is subject to change.
