What Happened?
On Dec. 27, 2025, Mullinax Ford of Central Florida discovered suspicious activity in its computer environment.
After launching an investigation with third-party forensic specialists, it was determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain Mullinax systems between Dec. 4, 2025, and Dec. 25, 2025. During this period, information stored on those systems was accessed and copied by the unauthorized actor.
The review of impacted documents was completed on March 18, 2026. Mullinax Ford of Central Florida notified affected individuals by written notice on April 15, 2026. The total number of impacted individuals in the United States has not been specified.
The incident was caused by a ransomware attack, with the group DragonForce claiming responsibility and posting about the breach on the dark web on Feb. 1, 2026. The group claimed to have obtained 294.65 GB of the organization's data.
As of current public disclosures, the following types of information were confirmed to have been exposed:
