What Happened?
On Jan. 23, 2025, Mid Florida Primary Care discovered suspicious activity in its network. Steps were taken to secure the network and launch an investigation with legal counsel and cybersecurity experts. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access and copying of sensitive information occurred between Nov. 29, 2024, and Dec. 11, 2024.
On Dec. 14, 2024, the hacking group BianLian claimed responsibility for the attack on the dark web, stating they accessed financial data, HR data, email correspondence and multiple patient records, including protected health information (PHI). The practice completed its review of the impacted information on June 19, 2025.
