What was the Manpower Ransomware Attack?
In late December 2024, Manpower Group experienced a major ransomware attack. On Jan. 20, 2025, the company discovered an IT outage that disrupted access to local systems. After investigating with the help of cybersecurity experts, it was determined that an unauthorized actor had accessed the company’s network between December 29, 2024, and January 12, 2025.
The attack was was done by the RansomHub ransomware group, which claimed to have acquired 500 GB of company data and threatened to publish it on the dark web.
By July 28, 2025, Manpower confirmed that sensitive information belonging to approximately 144,189 individuals in the United States had potentially been exposed. The company began notifying affected individuals by U.S. Mail on Aug. 11, 2025.

The company reported the breach to state attorneys general in Maine, Massachusetts, Texas and Vermont and offered affected individuals complimentary Equifax credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.
