Werth Wealth Management LLC, a financial advisory firm based in Hays, Kansas, disclosed a data breach this month after an unauthorized third party accessed its systems.

On July 1, 2026, the cybersecurity division at Raymond James identified suspicious activity on Werth Wealth Management's systems. The firm responded to isolate, secure and analyze the incident in order to stop the unauthorized access and determine what information may have been involved.

The investigation found that an unauthorized third party had gained access to certain Werth Wealth Management systems that contained files with the personal information of some clients. The breach was limited to Werth Wealth Management's systems and did not involve access to client accounts held at Raymond James, and no client accounts were accessed or funds compromised.

The types of personal information that may have been exposed include names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, dates of birth and Raymond James account numbers.

The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 29, 2026. Raymond James' cybersecurity division discovered the suspicious activity on July 1, 2026. The total number of people affected across the United States has not been disclosed.

Werth Wealth Management's response to the breach

Raymond James and Werth Wealth Management are offering affected individuals a complimentary two-year membership in Experian's IdentityWorks program. The service provides access to credit reports from the three national credit reporting agencies along with daily monitoring of credit files, according to the notification letter.

Affected individuals can enroll at Experian's IdentityWorks enrollment page using the activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed by the deadline specified in each individual's letter. Those who have questions or need help with an alternative to online enrollment can call Experian at 1-877-890-9332.
