Quantum Health Data Breach Impacts 184k: Personal Info and Medical Records Exposed

Quantum Health Inc., a healthcare navigation and care coordination company headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, disclosed a data breach that involved unauthorized access to its IT network in late May 2026.

On May 29, 2026, an unauthorized party placed a fraudulent call, and a Quantum Health user responded to it, giving the attacker access to the company's IT network. Between May 29 and June 1, 2026, the unauthorized party accessed and acquired files from certain Quantum Health systems.

On June 1, the company detected a service outage that affected the availability of both internal and external systems. The outage prompted the company to look into the cause, and the investigation ultimately linked the disruption to the unauthorized network access that had begun days earlier.

On July 8, 2026, the investigation further determined that some of the files taken from the company's systems contained personal information of affected individuals.

The breach exposed personally identifiable information and protected health information including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, demographic information, medical information, treatment information, diagnoses, prescriptions, provider names, dates of service, insurance policy numbers and claims or benefits information.

The breach was reported to the California Attorney General and to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. The company has begun notifying affected individuals by letter.

A total of 184,376 individuals were impacted nationwide, including 68,451 Texas residents, 6,481 South Carolina residents and 5,909 Washington residents. According to a disclosure filed with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the incident impacted the protected health information of 2,104 individuals.

Additionally, according to a tip received by Claim Depot, New Era Technology sent out notification letters of a data breach stemming from Quantum Health. At this time, it remains unclear if the Quantum Health data breach impacted additional companies who use their services.

Quantum Health's response to the breach

Quantum Health is offering affected individuals complimentary identity monitoring services through Kroll.

To activate these services, affected individuals should visit Enroll.krollmonitoring.com/redeem and enter the activation code and verification ID included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed by the deadline specified in each person's letter.
