What Happened?
On Dec. 8, 2025, Chatham Asset Management identified unauthorized activity within its computer network. The company responded by securing its systems, engaging third-party cybersecurity experts, and launching an investigation.
The hacking group known as Worldleaks claimed responsibility for the breach and threatened to publish stolen data on the dark web as early as Dec. 23, 2025.
Chatham disclosed the breach to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Jan. 20, 2026, and the Vermont Attorney General on Jan. 21, 2026.
According to the notice sent to affected individuals, the investigation determined that personal information may have been compromised. The following types of information could have been exposed:
