  1. Enroll in Complimentary Credit Monitoring: Albion College is offering one year of free Equifax® Credit Watch™ Gold. This service includes credit monitoring, daily access to your Equifax credit report, web scan notifications, automatic fraud alerts, identity restoration services, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance coverage. Follow the instructions in your notification letter to activate your membership.
  2. Place a Fraud Alert: Contact one of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) to place a free fraud alert on your credit files. This warns creditors to verify your identity before opening new accounts in your name.

  5. Report Suspicious Activity: If you detect any signs of identity theft or fraud, file a report with your local law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission. Keep records of any fraudulent activity and communications.
