Laurel Cancer Care experienced a data breach that compromised both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI), The cybersecurity incident was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Aug. 12, 2025, reporting at least 1,541 patients impacted.
Compromised information may include names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID number, health insurance information, medical records and payment information. While the specific details of the cyberattack have not been publicly released, the HHS office tracks significant healthcare data incidents nationwide.
In addition to required state and federal disclosures, Laurel Cancer Care will notify affected individuals by mail.
