
Landstar System Holdings Inc, a transportation and logistics company based in Jacksonville, Florida, disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to its systems that may have exposed the personal information of individuals across multiple states, including 726 Texas residents, 23 Maine residents, seven Massachusetts residents and three Vermont residents.
On April 30, 2026, Landstar became aware of suspicious activity by an unauthorized user within one of its business applications. Upon discovering the activity, Landstar blocked the unauthorized access and launched an investigation into the scope of the intrusion.
With the help of outside data security experts, the company determined that between April 29 and April 30, 2026, an unauthorized actor accessed and may have accessed or acquired some data within Landstar's environment.
On May 22, 2026, the company confirmed that the files contained personal information of individuals. The types of personal information that could have been exposed include names, Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers.
Landstar began notifying affected consumers by U.S. mail on June 11, 2026.
Landstar is offering affected individuals complimentary credit monitoring services through TransUnion.
To enroll, affected individuals can visit the Cyberscout enrollment page and enter the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.
