GITSIT Solutions LLC, a financial services company based in California, experienced a data breach. The company discovered suspicious activity within its internal network on Nov. 15, 2024. An investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to the GITSIT environment on Nov. 14 and Nov. 15, 2024, and accessed or acquired certain files.
A review was completed on July 10, 2025, and it was discovered that the data breach compromised sensitive personal information. Exposed information may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and financial information.
GITSIT Solutions began notifying impacted individuals by mail on Sept. 17, 2025. The data breach was also reported to state authorities, with disclosures available on the Maine Attorney General's website, the Texas Attorney General's database, and the California Attorney General data breach portals.
GITSIT Solutions acted quickly to secure its environment and notified federal law enforcement. A breach notice means your personal details could be circulating far beyond the organization involved. One practical step is continuous monitoring: services such as Identity Defender (included with an ExpressVPN subscription) can automatically check dark-web markets, flag new credit-file activity, and request removal of your information from data-broker sites.
This kind of “early-warning system” can’t undo a breach, but it can help you spot misuse quickly and limit further exposure. ExpressVPN is offering 61% off, risk-free for 30 days, with ID Theft Insurance included and no extra cost for those who sign up for one or two years.
