
On February 9 and 10, 2025, Mississippi-based First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Pascagoula Moss Point experienced a data security incident that impacted its internal network. According to the company’s disclosure to the California Attorney General, unauthorized access or acquisition of personal data occurred during this two-day window.
The breach was not discovered until Dec. 5, 2025, after an investigation and manual document review by external cybersecurity professionals. The company first disclosed the incident to the California Attorney General’s office on Jan. 5, 2026. On Jan. 7, 2026, a disclosure was also released to the Texas Attorney General.
According to a disclosure to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the types of information exposed include driver's licenses, financial account information, full names, Social Security numbers, and medical information.
The disclosures also stated that 2,334 Texas residents and 418 Massachusetts residents were impacted. The total number of individuals affected across the United States has yet to be released.
Affected individuals were notified via mail on Jan. 5, 2026. The company has also posted a notice of data security incident on their website.
To support affected individuals, the bank is offering a complimentary membership to Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B for a limited period. This service provides credit monitoring, identity theft detection, and $1 million in identity theft insurance. Enrollment instructions and activation codes were provided in the notification letter sent to impacted customers.
