On February 9 and 10, 2025, Mississippi-based First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Pascagoula Moss Point experienced a data security incident that impacted its internal network, in which an unauthorized access or acquisition of personal data occurred.

The breach was not discovered until Dec. 5, 2025, after an investigation and manual document review by external cybersecurity professionals. The company disclosed the incident to the California Attorney General, Montana Attorney General, Texas Attorney General starting on Jan. 5, 2026.

According to a disclosure to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the types of information exposed include driver's licenses, financial account information, full names, Social Security numbers, and medical information.

The disclosures also stated that 2,334 Texas residents, 418 Massachusetts residents, and 27 Montana residents were impacted. The total number of individuals affected across the United States has yet to be released.

Affected individuals were notified via mail on Jan. 5, 2026. The company has also posted a notice of data security incident on their website.

First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Pascagoula Moss Point's response

To support affected individuals, the bank is offering a complimentary membership to Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B for a limited period. This service provides credit monitoring, identity theft detection, and $1 million in identity theft insurance. Enrollment instructions and activation codes were provided in the notification letter sent to impacted customers.

Those affected are encouraged to:

  • Enroll in the Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B service as soon as possible
  • Review credit reports regularly for suspicious activity
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or security freeze on credit files with the major credit bureaus
  • Remain vigilant for signs of identity theft or fraud
