On Aug. 5, 2025, Cliff Viessman, Inc., also known as Viessman Trucking, detected suspicious activity within its internal network. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain CVI systems and copied files. Exposed information included names, Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers. Viessman Trucking began notifying affected individuals on Sept. 10, 2025. The data breach was also disclosed to the Vermont, Montana and New Hampshire Attorney Generals' offices between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11, 2025.
Cliff Viessman, Inc. responded to the breach securing its systems and implementing additional technical safeguards and enhanced security measures to reduce the risk of future incidents.
