Beusa Energy LLC, a privately held oilfield services and energy technology company based in The Woodlands, Texas, disclosed a data breach affecting 7,174 individuals in the United States, including 4,161 Texas residents and two Maine residents.
Beusa Energy identified a data security incident that resulted in the exposure of personal information the company held in its systems.
The personally identifiable information exposed included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government-issued identification numbers (such as passports and state ID cards), dates of birth and financial information, bank account numbers and credit or debit card numbers.
The breach also compromised protected health information, including medical information and health insurance information.
Beusa Energy began notifying affected individuals by written letter on June 10, 2026.
Beusa Energy established a dedicated and confidential call center where affected individuals can ask questions about the breach. The call center is available Monday through Friday during business hours, Eastern time, excluding holidays.
The company's notification also references a credit monitoring service. The notice advises recipients that if they have placed a security freeze on their credit file, they will need to temporarily lift it in order to enroll in the monitoring service.
The company also recommended reviewing explanation of benefits statements from health insurers and requesting a year-to-date report of all services paid on their behalf.
