Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A. Inc. agreed to settle a class action lawsuit claiming a data breach potentially exposed sensitive information of its current and former employees. The breach potentially compromised personal data, such as names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license information, passport numbers, retirement account details and medical information.
Who can file a claim?
People are eligible to file a claim if:
- They reside in the United States
- The Fujifilm data incident discovered in approximately September 2025 impacted their private information.
- They received a notice from Fujifilm regarding the data incident.
The class includes both current and former employees.
How much can class members receive?
Class members can claim the following benefits:
- Out-of-pocket losses: Class members who incurred expenses, such as bank fees, phone charges, postage, mileage or costs for credit monitoring or identity theft insurance, as a result of the data breach can submit receipts or other documentation to claim up to $2,500. The settlement caps the total payout for all such claims at $175,000. If the total valid claims exceed this cap, the settlement administrator will reduce each claim proportionally (pro rata). Another source cannot have already reimbursed these expenses, such as compensation provided in connection with the medical monitoring and identity theft protection product offered by Fujifilm.
- Alternative cash payment: Class members who do not have documentation or do not wish to claim specific losses can opt for a flat $50 payment.
- Credit monitoring: All class members can receive two years of free credit monitoring, regardless of whether they claim cash or out-of-pocket losses.

Class members can file a claim online or download, print and complete a PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

What proof or documentation do class members need to submit a claim?
- For the $2,500 out-of-pocket loss claim, class members must provide reasonable documentation, such as receipts, account statements or correspondence, showing the expense was related to the data incident.
- For the $50 alternative payment or credit monitoring, no documentation is required beyond an attestation and claim form.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit claimed a data incident at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A. in the summer of 2025 allowed unauthorized access to private information of employees. The plaintiffs alleged the company failed to adequately protect sensitive data.
